Bankpozitif's US$150M debut Eurobond issue:
June 27, 2007 - Bankpozitif Kredi ve Kalkınma Bankası A.Ş. has received a 5 year US$150m loan from Deutsche Bank Luxembourg S.A. through a loan participation note issue lead managed by Deutsche Bank AG on a sole basis. Bankpozitif's debut appearance in debt capital markets received significant attention from the investor community including insurance companies, fund managers and banks. The transaction was more than 1.5x oversubscribed with the participation of over 35 investors from Switzerland, Benelux, Israel, UK, Austria among others.
The transaction marks the first senior Eurobond issue for a bank in Turkey for almost a decade. Turkish economy has grown on average more than 7.0% between 2004 and 2006, and the Turkish banking sector expanded in parallel with this growth. The strong economic performance coupled with the vast liquidity in the capital markets tightened the spreads for Turkish borrowers making international bond issuance more attractive.
